We understand very well that the Galapagos islands are one of the most fragile ecosystems in the world. We are very much aware that in order to keep it as pristine as possible we need to be sustainable. We do not host more than 10 guests any given week, we promote the low or non use of plastic during your stay and we only collaborate with local operators that recycle all their waste created by tourism.
In 2017, AMANGALASURFCO had a direct participation in the creation of FRENTE INSULAR, a movement that aims to encourage the local youth to commit to ocean conservation and to become ambassadors for conservation actions. Click Here for details.
AMANGALA, a family driven business, has since 2018 committed to eradication of invasive species such as black berries, wild pigs, wild goats and guayabo trees. Our plan is the restoration of 25 H of farmland where over 6000 endemic plants have been planted to date aiming to reach 10.000 by the end of 2025.
During your stay, a visit to the farm can be organised upon request.
In december 2022, www.galapagos.org.com choosed AMANGALA FARM as the starting point for the island north coast reintroduction program of the endemic giant galapagos tortoise sub specie https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelonoidis_niger_chathamensis
This program is under development.
If you wish to participate in our efforts, do not hesitate in letting us know. Your help is always welcome!!
